Support STC to grow your business

The Salem Theatre Company offers three ways for North Shore businesses and groups to promote themselves while simultaneously supporting live, professional quality theater arts in the region. Contact info@salemtheatre.com if you are interested in any of the following opportunities…

  1. Program Ads. Full color ads in our production programs range in price from $75 to $500. Once you purchase ad space, your ad will appear in every program the STC produces that season – for all the Main Stage plays and for some Second Stage events. With our programs passing through the hands of thousands of North Shore area consumers, program ads are a terrific value.
  2. Production Sponsorship. Become the exclusive underwriting sponsor for a Main Stage or Second Stage event and your logo and name will be included on every piece of marketing generated for the production: press releases, postcards, posters and fliers, email blasts, the STC website, event calendar listings at dozens of news sites and publications, and in the production program. Production sponsorships are limited to one underwriter per production, so contact the STC about available opportunities left for the 6th Season or upcoming for the 7th Season.
  3. Ticketing Partnerships. Your patrons or group members will receive a discount at STC Main Stage plays in exchange for your help in promoting our productions among your customers and members. At no cost to you whatsoever, you can help us grow our audience while adding value to your patron’s dining, lodging, or shopping experience, or adding an exciting new benefit for your group members. Package deals for accommodations, restaurants, and travel industry businesses are available and are customized to your schedule and budget; contact info@salemtheatre.com for more details.

See STC, Save Money

You shouldn’t need a bank loan to get theater tickets. At $20 for an adult ticket, the STC is one of the most affordable high quality theater experiences in Massachusetts. But you can save even more with these different discounts and programs…

STC’s Free Second Stage Events. Two of the STC’s annual Second Stage events are always free. Our Shakespeare Open Mic Night (April 23rd, 8pm, Gulu-Gulu) is our annual celebration of the Bard’s birthday. And every August we close our season with two afternoons of free Improv on the Bricks improv comedy show during Salem’s Heritage Days festival (Aug. 8th & 9th, 3:30pm, Derby Square).

Mainstage Pass Program. The STC’s Mainstage Pass program is growing in popularity. The Pass is good for one adult admission to each of the STC’s next three mainstage plays. Three adult tickets would normally cost $60, but the Pass is just $50, a savings of over 15%.

Ticketing Partners. The STC is proud to be a ticketing partner with the businesses listed below. Show your receipt from your meal or stay the day of the performance and every member of your party will receive $3 off their mainstage ticket.

Membership Discounts. The STC offers a $3 discount to members of the following. Members must show their current membership card at the Box Office to receive their discount.

Facebook & Twitter Discounts. Become a Fan of the Salem Theatre Company on Facebook or follow our Twitter and get special rush discounts and Twickets for mainstages plays.

Ticketing discounts cannot be combined and only apply to the Member or to the members of the Ticketing Partner’s immediate party. All of the STC’s discount offers and the Pass program only apply to Mainstage productions and not Second Stage events or programs.

If you are a restaurant or accommodations in the greater Salem area, or if you are interested in a ticketing discount benefit for your group’s members, contact the STC at info@salemtheatre.com with your suggestion.

Pinter Closes This Weekend

STC’s thought provoking and moving production of several sketches and one-acts by the late Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter will wrap this weekend at the Griffen Theater.  The first performance of Pinter’s works in New England since his death in December, the selections range from the darkly comic to the profoundly dramatic.  Whether or not you are familiar with Pinter’s works, the production is simultaneously accessible and challenging – a credit to director Pauline Wright and the entire cast.  You’ll be kicking yourself Monday morning if you miss this one, so get your tickets online at www.salemtheatre.com now before the show wraps on Sunday.

Friday & Saturday at 8pm; Sunday at 2pm; Griffen Theater on Lynde Street, Salem

STC Nominated for Chamber Award

The Salem Theatre Company has been nominated by the Salem Chamber of Commerce for their 2008 Community Service Award.  The award recognizes a Chamber member or group who has an outstanding record of community service and volunteer participation.  The arts community of Salem is very well represented by this year’s group of nominees and the STC is honored to be listed among them.  The other arts-focused nominees are African Development through Drum & Dance, the Salem Arts Association, and the Salem Jazz & Soul Festival.  Also nominated were Juli Lederhaus of the Hawthorne Hotel and Andrew Oliver of the Salem Mission.

Pinter Opening, Globe covers North Shore theaters

STC’s production of one acts and revue sketches by the late Harold Pinter opens tomorrow evening at the Griffen Theatre on Lynde Street for a limited run of just six performances.  Those who have been to the Griffen know how small the theater there is.  With a short run and a small house, we are anticipating tickets to go fast.  Especially as this is the first performance of Pinter’s works since his death in December. Don’t put off getting your tickets until the last minute and be sure to call or reserve online in advance to ensure you get a seat; if you walk in and try to buy at the box office (especially on Saturday evening performances!) you may just find that there are no tickets left!

On another note, be sure to check out Joel Brown’s article in today’s Boston Globe North about how STC and other small, independent theaters around the North Shore are dealing with the economic downturn.  If you are a new visitor to this blog via the STC site after reading the article or seeing our Pinter ad in the Globe’s G section, welcome!  Sign up to follow our Twitter on the right and check out www.salemtheatre.com for updates about auditions, performances, and other exciting news and developments!
