Public Exposure at STC

Just in time for the election, Salem Theatre Company (STC) presents Public Exposure, a political farce by Robert Reich, as its seventh installment in the STC’s “Staged Reading Series.”  Public Exposure, directed by Dominick Pangallo, will be staged at the Griffen Theater on Tuesday, 9/23, 7:00pm Saturday, 9/27, 4:00pm and Sunday, 9/28, 7:00pm.  Tickets: $10/$8, call 978-790-8546 or order online at www.salemtheatre.com.

In the irreverent play, a right-wing television anchor is persuaded by a calculating reporter and an unscrupulous local plastic surgeon to throw his hat into the race for president.  Complications begin to emerge for the campaign when the anchor is exposed as a closet flasher.

The STC’s Staged Reading Series began in February 2004 and has been a regular component of the STC season ever since.  Staged readings are on-book productions featuring minimal technical elements – if any – where the emphasis is on the language, the story, and the characters.

Public Exposure will be read by Jessica McGettrick, Jonathan Thompson, Caroline Watson-Felt, and Anne O’Neill, all Salem residents, along with James Wilcox of Beverly.  Please note this play features strong language and scenarios that may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
