Direct for STC

STC is now accepting applications for director for the upcoming “Moments of Play: A Festival of One-Acts,” which will be held Sunday June 15, at the Morse Auditorium in the Peabody Essex Museum, 161 Essex St. The application deadline is April 28.

Formerly known as “Catch’Em on the Rise,” the theater company’s “Moments of Play: A Festival of One-Acts,” is our annual festival of original short plays. Scripts were previously submitted by local playwrights from the surrounding North Shore area. The plays are no longer than 10 minutes and have minimal scene setup (cafe chairs, stools, tables, etc.) and little costume change. Directors will have the opportunity to cast roles, arrange rehearsals and work with the actors ensure their own productions overall artistic creativity.

Those applying are asked to e-mail a copy of their resume and a brief letter of interest to: info@salemtheatre.com.

Shakespeare Open Mic

Thanks to all who came to the Shakespeare Open Mic night last night.  Every April 23rd, STC gathers for a free evening of spontaneous performances to celebrate the Bard’s birthday.

We should have some video and photos from last night for you soon.  In the meantime, here’s a video courtesy of the Salem Gazette from last year’s open mic.
